Many of us Europeans have seen many WW1 Grenades, but invaraibly as duds, resurfacing from the Earth on the old Battlegrounds, some 90 years or so after being fired. But they are rusty and grimy and it's hard to imagine how they really looked. This is a small help for anyone who wants to do this. (It could also help anyone wanting to have a guess of actual colours of equipemnt etc, when looking at black-and-white photographs - a VERY tricky enterprise.) More material will be posted eventually. |
